TRUSTING IN GOD
The Bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and He will direct your paths."
Trust in the Lord - God is the source of everything you need, so place your trust in him. He gave you a good mind, a healthy body, talents, and abilities. Everything you are or have actually comes directly or indirectly from him. You are not an accident. You are a part of God’s plan. You are not defective in any way. When God created you, He pronounced his creation good. He is on your side and has a plan for your life that is good for you, perfect for the type of person you are, and acceptable to you. It only makes good sense to trust in him.
With all your heart – Your heart is your home, and it’s where you live with God. You connect with God in your heart. Trusting God is more than something that you think about; it’s something that you feel inside. Trusting God feels like coming home.
Lean not unto your own understanding - You don’t need to figure everything out. It isn’t even desirable to figure everything out. Don’t lean on or rely on your understanding, because many times it’s impossible to figure things out. Don’t worry if you don’t understand things in your head. Your trust is in the Lord rather than in your head. God is your source and not your head. Therefore, place your trust in him.
In all your ways acknowledge him – Whatever you do, acknowledge that God is the source and director of your life. Acknowledgement is a form of positive expectations. You expect God to show you the way.
And He shall direct your paths – When you acknowledge God’s direction, He will show you where to take the next step. God's love will point you in the right direction and give you the power to make the trip.
Job said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust him.” No matter how things seem, I will put my trust in God. He will show me where to take the next step, and no matter what happens, I will trust God to make my life into something good.
